Department of Mathematics Overview

The Department of Mathematics at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Ramapuram, established in 2004, provides a strong mathematical foundation for engineering and scientific disciplines. The department has 38 qualified faculty members, including 20 Ph.D. holders, 27 research scholars, and 15 recognized Ph.D. supervisors, with expertise in Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Fuzzy Set Theory, Graph Theory, and Differential Equations. Over the last five years, the faculty have published 170 Scopus-indexed research papers. The department promotes excellence through research, conferences, workshops, and student-focused initiatives such as the FRACTAL Mathematics Association and interdisciplinary Mathematical Modeling Competitions, fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
