Interpreting the World Through Language & Culture

The Department of Languages is dedicated to fostering linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and critical thinking through its four language programs: English, Tamil, French, and Hindi. Each program equips students with strong communication skills while promoting an appreciation of literary traditions, cultural heritage, and global perspectives.

Through the study of literature, linguistics, and cultural studies, students explore how language shapes identity, history, and society. The department adopts an interdisciplinary approach that encourages analytical thinking, creativity, and meaningful engagement with diverse cultures and ideas.

In an increasingly interconnected world, proficiency in multiple languages, coupled with the ability to think critically and communicate effectively, is an invaluable asset. The Department of Languages is committed to nurturing these competencies, preparing students for academic excellence, professional success, and responsible global citizenship.
